Hapé (pronounced 'haa-pay') is a legal and sacred herbal snuff containing nicotina rustica, an indigenous tobacco known to the locals as the spirit "Mapacho." It is used for deep connection to the spirits, animals and Mother Nature. It is cleansing and powerfully healing for the body, mind, and soul. The indigenous tribes have been working with this medicine for thousands of years to heal their communities both energetically and emotionally.
This sacred medicine takes days to make and is a very labor intensive process made in a ceremonial way. The Hapeh utilized during this ceremony is from the Yananawa tribe of the Amazon. It is made by the grandmothers of the tribe and prayed over for 13 moons.
Application: This medicine is administered through a techique called "soplada" or insufflation, meaning it is blown up the nostrils through a large blow pipe, called a ‘Tepi'.
Process:
- Song/intention setting to call in and connect with the plant ally Mapacho
- Heart opening breathing
- Calling in of sacred space
- Receiving the medicine
- Sound Healing and deepening our connection with the plant
- Grounding in and closing of sacred space
